Use your imagination and dream of a studio filled with glowing computers and peripherals. Listen to the sound of fans running full-speed as killer graphics are rendered as creativity comes to life. A History Lesson with no pop-quiz
Back to level 1
Let’s hit 88mph and visit 1997 when I fell in love with motion design. Our scene opens with me in 9th grade computer class when I got my hands on PowerPoint for the very first time. I spent countless hours animating a soccer player running across the screen and taking a shot on goal. It looked awful. Really really awful, but I loved every second of the process and continued to explore what I could create with a computer. This love of technology and motion continued to grow as I pursued an undergraduate degree in Electronic Media Communication with a minor in Marketing from Middle Tennessee State University.
Post-graduation I joined my still production family at BlueSky Filmworks, Inc. as Lead Motion Designer. Together we laughed, we cried when Final Cut Pro 6 crashed daily, but when software worked, we crafted works for a wide range of clients winning many awards along the way. I received my first national broadcast credit when I was 24 years old and won an Emmy at 25.
Fast forward to 2011 and I made the best decision of my career to attend Full Sail University. I enjoyed every moment of the Media Design Master’s program and proudly graduated at the top of my class. As is encouraged for all Full Sail Alumni, I proudly give of my time to both future and current students through events and speaking engagements.
While still maintaining my design career, I took a detour through the world of education and in 2018 I lead a school to become globally recognized by Microsoft for its technology integration in the classroom and esports program. I also had the honor of speaking on a global stage about the importance of diversity and inclusion, technology-based training and all the benefits of instilling esports programs in the K-12 space. I was also inducted into the Microsoft Legacy Project which honored the top 75 educators in the world for the 2020-2021 school year that went above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic. Full Sail University also honored my work with the Extraordinary Educator Award in recognition of teaching excellence, leadership, and supporting students’ dreams.
